The Guy Behind the Scenes
Sean-Eric Civitarese [ résumé ]
Designer, Web Consultant
Yes, I have two first names. Yes, if you'd like to call me Sean, that's fine by me. If you'd like to say my real name, it's Sean-Eric. I've got a long unique name, so don't worry about messing it up.
I guess one could say I'm an artist, but I'm an artist who loves technology (as much as technology seems to give us trouble these days). Back in 1995, when I was 9 years old, I began tinkering with websites. I started learning HTML in early 1996 and continued to expand my knowledge year after year. I had taken an interest in other programming languages but found that I was better suited to the design world.
Around 2003 I thought about starting a web design business but wasn't sure if it was the right thing for me to do. At first I didn't think I would be able to make a living off of it. I did some work but pretty much left everything on the back burner.
Starting a business has been a dream of mine since the age of 5 and when I graduated from high school, I finally did just that. I didn't come back to what I really loved until two years after I started my company. I've learned many new things and continue to gain experience, but I wouldn't trade this for anything else.
Something really about me
I absolutely love what I do for my job, but when I'm not working I enjoy many other things. I'm an avid mountain biker, hiker/backpacker, "roughing-it" camper, and an Eagle Scout. I enjoy jogging, being outside in general, and photography and when I have time I may do a painting or a sketch here and there, but most of my artwork is performed through my work.
I also enjoy spending time learning as much as I can to improve my skills and knowledge within the web development industry. Everyday I try to learn at least one new thing.
